University of Alabama Hybrid MSW Program
The University of Alabama offers a hybrid online MSW program that follows a cohort model with asynchronous structure. Traditional and advanced standing options are available with concentrations in Services to Children, Adolescents, and their Families or Adults and their families. Some of the courses include face-to-face skills labs conducted on Saturdays at regionally-convenient locations (each skills lab meets for half a day on four Saturdays during the semester).

For traditional standing students course requirements to graduate require 60 credits hours, and 1000 hours of field education. Advanced standing students are required to complete 42 credit hours and 500 hours of field education. Most field education agencies are located in Alabama, although arrangements may be made for field education sites out of state. Both programs are available in a part time option and full-time option which take four years for traditional part-time, two years for traditional full-time, two years for advanced part-time, and 1.5 for advanced full-time.
Admissions for traditional students is in the summer, while the advanced standing is in the spring/summer. University of Alabama online MSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
